northern italy luxury honeymoon
verona, the dolomites & lake garda
Starting your Italian honeymoon in fair Verona, you’ll wander the cobblestone streets, go to an opera in the famous Verona arena, visit historic castles, enjoy aperol spritzes on balconies overlooking the river and eat some incredible meals. Verona is incredibly romantic and the perfect place to start your honeymoon.
The Eastern Italian Alps and the Brenta Dolomites are truly breathtaking. From the historic castles, vineyards and olive groves in the South Tyrol region outside of the spa town of Merano, to the village of Madonna di Campiglio, nestled in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites, you’ll have an active and relaxing experience.
In the mountains, your hikes will lead you to alpine blue lakes through rustic country villages and wildflower dotted meadows, and along trails boasting unbelievable views of the iconic Dolomite peaks. You’ll visit alpine rifugi, savoring an espresso or traditional canederli dumpling before hopping back on the path with a new boost in your step.
Every day, you’ll enjoy each region’s cuisine, prepared with fresh and local ingredients. From a private wine tasting in a small, family-owned organic vineyard to a visit to a local cheesemaker’s farm, you’ll eat well and get to know the friendly communities.
Relax at day’s end with a glass of the exquisite regional wine – Gewürztraminer – as you watch the sun set, casting a rose colored hue over the jagged peaks of the Dolomites. These parts of Italy are truly some of the most special and beautiful places in the world.
Spend your final couple of nights on the shores of Lago di Garda, Italy’s largest and most beautiful lake. You’ll go sailing, kayaking and swimming and soak up the final few days of your Italian adventure together.
Full of welcoming people, a rich culture and many natural wonders, the Dolomites and the Eastern Alps will steal your heart forever.
