10 reasons why
we love argentina
Our trips in Argentina are the perfect combination of exciting adventure, relaxation, luxury and authenticity. From remote Patagonia to energetic Buenos Aires and from romantic Mendoza to end-of-the-world Ushuaia, you'll quickly discover how special & unique this country is and you'll never want to leave . . .
Throughout your trip, you'll see herds of animals you didn't even know existed in the world, hike on the most spectacular trails, drink directly from glacial streams, experience breathtaking views, enjoy incredible food & wine and likely be as far south on the planet as you've ever been.
Here are a few reasons why we love it so much.
1. hiking trails
The hiking trails in Patagonia are magnificent. You’ll walk on trails that lead through lenga forests, past fresh streams to turquoise glacial lakes with epic views of the majestic Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre and other well known, high peaks. The colors of the deep, blue sky and gray snow-capped spires will leave you awe-struck every step of the way.
2. fly fishing
One of our favorite non-hiking activities while in Argentine Patagonia is to go fly fishing on Lago del Desierto with views to the backside of Fitz Roy. All fishing here is catch-and-release and we work with the best local guide.
3. perito moreno glacier
No trip to Patagonia is complete without a visit to the massive, magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier where you’ll watch for calving icebergs, learning about glaciology and what makes this place so unique.
4. Buenos aires
Buenos Aires is a vibrant, colorful city that is dramatically in contrast to the remote corners of Patagonia that you’ll discover on your trip to Argentina. Full of love, life, tango, incredible restaurants, interesting culture and history, Buenos Aires is one of our favorite cities in the world.
5. mendoza’s WINE REGION
At the foot of the Andes, the Mendoza wine region is full of vineyards where some of the best wine in Argentina - and the world - is made with love and care. The scenery is absolutely stunning, and a wonderful add-on to any itinerary in Argentina - especially if you’re on your honeymoon.
6. the food & wine
Enjoying Argentine cuisine is quite the gastronomical experience. Often described as a blend of Mediterranean influences (from Italian & Spanish immigrants) and the the Native American influences. No trip is complete without indulging in the Malbec & Torrontés wines, a traditional asado (barbeque), maté (Argentine tea), dulce de leche (sweet cream) and the famous alfajor cookies.
7. THE WILDLIFE
While in Argentina, it’s always important to keep your eyes peeled for wildlife like the infamous Andean condor, guanaco, Rhea’s ostrich, huemul, penguins (if you’re in Ushuaia), Flemish giant rabbit, miniature Pudu deer, puma, armadillo, salmon and the magellenic woodpecker.
8. friendly locals
The Argentine people are incredibly welcoming and friendly. You’ll be greeted with big smiles and warmth every time you enter a restaurant, café, your accommodations or when you’re simply passing on the street. We find ways, throughout our trip, to make sure that you experience the local culture (like visiting a local estancia for a home-hosted lunch).
9. unique, BOUTIQUE LODGING
On all of our trips, we take care to select special, boutique accommodations that will allow you to have a unique experience and help you connect more deeply to the local culture and cuisine of the places you're visiting. For our Argentina itineraries, our hotels are all run and operated locally and some of our favorite places to stay in the world - like Aguas Arriba in Patagonia, Eolo in Patagonia, Legado Mitico in Buenos Aires & The Vines in Mendoza.
10. CUSTOM ITINERARIES
Whether you’re on a self-guided trip, a private guided trip or your honeymoon, all of our itineraries are handcrafted & completely customizable to your preferred travel dates, budget, accommodation preferences and activity level. We’ll work with you to tailor your itinerary until it’s just right.
