the french alps
Nestled within the Rhône-Alpes region between Mont d’Arbois and Rochebrune, the chic and charming town of Megève offers excellent access to hiking trails and maintains an authentic feel of a Savoyard village.
Here, you’ll find art galleries, 13th-century churches, jazz bars and a wonderful, car-free medieval center that’s full of cobblestone streets and pretty, timber-frame buildings. Megève is full of gourmet cuisine and holds arguably some of the best restaurants in the Alps. You’ll find meats, cheese, truffles, local vegetables, freshwater fish, fruit and delicious desserts.
There are alpine refuges sprinkled throughout the mountains that cook special meals - perfect spots for a mid-hike lunch. Easily accessible from town are many hiking trails that offer spectacular views of the surrounding area - snow-capped peaks, soft meadows, lush forests, sparkling lakes and magical waterfalls.
The Chamonix Valley is a mecca for hiking, trekking, climbing & mountaineering. The trails in this area offer incredible views and breathtaking scenery. The village itself is charming and though busy in the summertime, we’ve found a great place as a home-base located just outside the hustle and bustle.
Megève & Chamonix are great locations to experience beautiful hiking, classic French culture, friendly locals and sumptuous cuisine.
